Duties and Responsibilities:    

  1. Under direction, conducts researches and field surveys on hazardous workplaces including safety devices of industrial machineries ;
  2. Performs technical analysis and prepares recommendations on the result of research and survey activities;
  3. Conducts examination and performance test of personal protective equipment safety devices, boilers and pressure vessels and grinding wheel for compliance with safety standards and regulations;
  4. Formulates and develops guidelines, practical test procedures and sample preparations for efficient performance  of field and laboratory test;
  5. Supervises maintenance and calibration of laboratory and field testing instruments and equipment;
  6. Reviews existing legislations, rules and policies on occupational safety and makes appropriate recommendations on the improvement of standard work;
  7. Renders technical advisory services in evaluating general safety condition of workplaces and proper selection, use and maintenance of personal protective devices;
  8. Acts as trainor or resource person in seminars and conferences related to the prevention of accidents in workplaces.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Under direction, provides consultation as well as formulates and issues technical guidelines for prevention, diagnosis and management of occupational diseases;
  2. Promotes workers’ health by providing medical services and ensuring healthy working conditions in places of employment through medical surveys in the different industrial establishments and through conduct of seminars on occupational and industrial health;
  3. Conducts special medical examinations on workers exposed to health hazards;
  4. Supervises and interprets pulmonary function test, audiometry, visual acuity, fatigue testing and neurologic examination;
  5. Performs research work in the field of occupational and industrial health;
  6. Acts as trainor or resource person in national seminars and conferences related to occupational health;
  7. Plans and formulates programs and procedures to improve field services in occupational health;
  8. Gives assistive services to the public in the promotion of occupational health activities;
  9. Analyzes or interprets data gathered from all medical surveys in different establishments;
  10. Performs preliminary ECG reading, classifies chest x-ray results according to ILO Radiologic Classification Standards for pneumoconiosis and evaluates or interprets results of special laboratory examination;

  2. Takes charge in the initial interview and evaluation of papers, reports, project proposals, informative materials on the Division’s area of concern.
  3. Renders technical assistance to private entities in the design of engineering measures in the control and abatement of environmental hazards in their respective place of work.
  4. Anticipates, detects, evaluates and monitors industrial operations potentially injurious to health.
  5. Performs laboratory experiments and test of respiratory protective device.
  6. Coordinates in developing training materials and programs for the education of workers and the public in the prevention of occupational safety and health hazards.

  1. Under general supervision, performs and takes responsibility for maintenance, repair of various audio-visual equipment installed at the OSHC Complex for smooth operation of audio-visual systems.
  2. Operates overall audio system and lighting system at the auditorium and projection (film/video) slide/visual requirements during conventions, seminars and other functions; supervises set-up of equipment requirements for seminars and other functions and activities and rechecks them for optimum operational condition.
  3. Conducts routine check-up of all audio-video systems during actual operational activities; does ensure excellent audio-video reproduction;
  4. Makes occasional inventory of all audio-video system and accessories, and determine necessary components or parts for requisition;
  5. Assists loading and unloading of audio-visual equipment from OSHC to its site (remote location) of presentation and back;
  6. Updates equipment usage and records to avoid disruption of information operation;
  7. Assists in the preparation of training and information materials for distribution or shipping.
